Gordon Bajnai, an economist and businessman, was born in 1968, Hungary. From April 2009 until May 2010, he served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Hungary. Earlier, he held positions as Government Commissioner of the National Development Agency, as Minister of Regional Development and later as Minister of economy and National Development. In the private sector Mr. Bajnai has recently served as Group COO of Meridiam Infrastructure between 2014 and 2017 and he continues as a member of the Supervisory Board. Earlier, between 2000 and 2006, he was CEO of the Wallis Group, a major Hungarian diversified holding. Between 1995 and 2000, he was deputy CEO of CA IB Securities, a leading Hungarian investment bank. During his career he also acted as advisor or director for Budapest Airport, Antin Infrastructure, Aegon Insurance and Raba plc. Currently Mr. Bajnai is also a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, the Atlantic Council and the Advisory Board of the New Pact for Europe initiative, and was an adjunct professor of Columbia University.
