William has been actively involved with investing, advising and lending in Asia for over 35 years. He worked for the Lloyds Bank Group for 18 years, including periods as director and head of capital markets at Lloyds Merchant Bank, managing director of Lloyds Bank Fund Management and managing director of Asian investment banking based in Hong Kong. He is chairman or a director of a range of specialist investment companies, including Abingworth Bioventures, Axis Fiduciary Ltd, JP Morgan Chinese Investment Trust plc, Fidelity Asian Values plc and Guardian Ceylon Investment Trust Plc. He is currently or has recently been an advisor to Homestrings, the Asian Development Bank, Security Bank in the Philippines and SBI Mutual Fund in India.
